James A. Lasky

James Lasky has built a career in public policy and government affairs for more than 25 years. Mr. Lasky joined the firm in 1993 as Government Affairs Director. Mr. Lasky has developed a special talent for passing legislation of all types, regardless of the issue area, and has assisted in passing numerous bills for a wide range of clients.

In 1984, Mr. Lasky joined the New York State Banking Department as the Executive Assistant to the Superintendent of Banks. In 1986 he was promoted to Deputy Superintendent of Banks for Policy and Planning. While at the Banking Department, he developed and implemented Department policies, and analyzed market conditions and economic impact on the banking industry. Mr. Lasky has served on the Governor’s Executive Committee on Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises, the Governors’ Sub cabinet on Economic Development and the Governor’s Interagency Task Force on Small Business.

Mr. Lasky began his career in 1977 as Director of Government Affairs for the New York State Association of Realtors. Mr. Lasky continued building his career by becoming Assistant to the Executive Vice President of the Savings Bank Association of New York State. In both jobs, Mr. Lasky was responsible for representing industry positions before the Legislature, Executive Branch and State Agencies.

Mr. Lasky holds a B.A. in History from Alfred University, and a Master’s degree in Economics from the State University of New York at Albany.
